Well, parents and campers, we did it!  You have survived Camp Wilson!  I am so proud of the progress you all have made!  I will miss this great group of campers and wish everyone a super duper family-filled summer vacation!

REPORT CARDS:  I am still waiting on 5 more report cards to be returned signed.  Please make sure you cut off the bottom portion and sign and return it by tomorrow.  We need our OSRs to be completed by end of year.

Congratulations to,,,,,Christy Sera who earned STUDENT OF THE YEAR!  She has demonstrated perseverance in all subject areas, a positive attitude towards school and learning and the willingness to take the steps necessary to bump up her work with teacher feed back! For those of you who don't know the band Europe...well, I guess you weren't a teenager in the 80's!  Maybe I'm dating myself by putting up a link to one of the best all time songs of the 80s, but it was just so fitting for the beginning of our FINAL week of Camp Wilson!

Friday, June 22 - School wide end-of-the-year Mass in our school gym at 1:30 pm.  Student of the Month assembly will follow after mass.  Students who win this month's award will be recognized for Student of the Year, demonstrating an overall successful year in grade 3.


This week will be our final week of WOW words.  We are holding a Spelling Bee against the other 2 grade 3 classes next week!  We are hoping Camp Wilson prevails as this year's Spelling Bee Champions!  A trophy will be awarded to the winners....good luck everyone!

Poetry Cafe Pics

Poetry Cafe was a HUGE success thanks to the hard work of my little campers and supportive parents and grandparents!  The plates of delicious treats were amazing  - thank you for all of your generosity!  I LOVED this poetry unit and I am thrilled that students have taken such an interest in it!  I can't wait to see what the future brings for these campers!  Enjoy the pictures below!

REMINDER:  Fun Day tomorrow!  Wear sunblock, hat and bring a water bottle with your child's name labelled on it clearly.  Also, pack the usual lunch and snacks.

Today we had a full rehearsal in preparation for Friday's Poetry Cafe!  Boy, are you ever in for a treat!  There are about 5 students left to spend some serious time tonight rehearsing to cement the poems to memory, so please make sure you hear child rehearsing tonight for homework.

Great Week again!

We've been super busy wrapping up our final units in science, math, music and language!  Thank you to all the parents who are going to make it out to our Poetry Cafe next Friday!  The R.S. V. P.s were amazing and many of you volunteered to bring in a yummy plate of treats to share - THANK YOU! (Please keep in mind our school is peanut/nut free when bringing in food to share)


So, next week, here is what to expect...
Friday, June 15th - Poetry Cafe @ 2:00 pm in our classroom, WOW test

Please ensure your child attends regularly next week as we will be VERY MUCH in full rehearsal and preparation mode for the big event on Friday!  I am sooo excited!  You will be amazed at the talent one camp can have!

Your assistance is required...I am asking students to wear an all black shirt for our Poetry Cafe performance. Pants/shorts can be worn on the bottoms, no important.   (Can bring it with them and change here at school, or they can just wear it).  We are hoping to create a Poet-Look as a group.  So excited!  I will have additional props for the day of, so all I need from you is the black shirt!  Thank you!

Hello Parents and Campers!

As we head into our final month of grade 3, here is what we have to look forward to...

POETRY CAFE!  Yes, this amazing group of campers has blown my mind with their poetry performances, so much so that I have agreed to embark upon our first ever, POETRY CAFE performance for you, the parents/grandparents!  Monday afternoon, your child should deliver to you an invitation to this very special event!  We have been working very hard since January learning all about the elements of poetry, and now here is our chance to showcase our talent!  Please cut off and return the bottom portion of the invitation so we can plan.

WHERE: St. Christopher School in our Classroom

WHEN: Friday, June 15 at 2:00 p.m.

WHO: Parents/Grandparents

WHAT: Poetry reading by YOURS TRULY!

WHY: To Celebrate the “Art of Poetry”!

Music Test: Continue only for those who did not test last week.

Math Test: This Wednesday on Probability. We will review this week on Monday and Tuesday.

Science Test: Soils: This Thursday in open-book format. Please review your Science duo tang Tues and Wed. evenings.

Wow Test: Thursday (no school Friday). We will also be taking our gloves off to compete against the other grade 3 classes in our end-of-the-year 5th Annual Spelling Bee! Yes, you heard it, 3W takes on the likes of 3D in a Spelling Bee contest based on the first 500 words of our spelling word lists! It's going to be epic! Let the games begin! Date and time soon to be announced.
