Dear Parents and Campers,
Terrifically terrifying day yesterday for not only my eager little campers, but for most of the school who were treated to a SPOOKTACULAR Halloween walk through of Creepy Camp Wilson! Fun was had by all, but I don't know about your children, but I was pooped when I got home! But, do you know how often I heard a camper say "This is the BEST DAY EVER!" so it makes it all well worth it!
Enjoy this video taken during our Fear Factor Event!
Glad everyone had a great time! Today, students did manage quite well considering a later than usual night! Thank you again for making this day possible with your constant support and donations!
Science: Tonight your child came home with their Science duo tang for review. Tomorrow they will be reviewing again and we will also do a Tic Tac Toe review during the day (ask your child about this).
Math: We are wrapping up our unit on Number Patterns and Relating Multiplication to Addition. I will be assessing students early next week. I didn't want to put another assessment in this already busy week, so we will review and assess next week. Students are earning their multiplication links very quickly! Ask your child to practise counting by 2s, 5s, 10s, 3s for the next month. We will eventually work our way up to the 10 times tables before you know it!
FIELD TRIP:
Next week, the grade three classes will be going a field trip to John R. Park Homestead as a launch to our Social Studies unit on First Nations and Early Settlers of the early 1800s. Information and field trip permission forms will be sent home Thursday. Please sign and return by Friday if possible, or at your earliest convenience. A limited number of parent chaperones will be allowed to attend (due to space) and will be selected in a lottery draw, so if you wish to volunteer to chaperone a group, please sign and return the form to school. For more information about John R. Park Homestead, please click on the this link: John R. Park Homestead
School Mass: This Friday in our school gym at 1:30. All are welcome to attend.
PROGRESS REPORTS:
Progress reports go home Novermber 13th. I like to meet with all parents for this first reporting period so I will be in touch with a mutually convenient time to schedule you in at on Parent Teacher night Wednesday, November 15th from 4 - 7pm.
PICTURE RETAKES: November 13th, 2017
That's all for now,
Counsellor Wilson
